6:00pm Thursday November 10 - 5:59pm Friday November 11 2011 @ Dixie State College
PRE-FLIGHT MEETING: Tonight, November 3rd, at 7:00 pm in the University Plaza 1071 E 100 S Building C (upstairs)
Do you like to code? Do you like to camp? If not, Code Camp may actually still be for you! Code Camp is not all about programming in a dark pit until the wee hours of the morning, fueled by nothing but Mountain Dew, Doritos, and Under-appreciated Genius – though if that is your style, you are still invited – but about ideas, teamwork, and valuable, practical experience. Developers, Designers, Artists, UI/UX Experts, or anyone else interested in the creation of web or mobile applications is welcome to assemble a team, come with an idea and fight for the title of Southern Utah Code Camp Champion!
A Way to Prove My Unpeered Intellect? Elaborate.
You will have 24 hours to build the best web or mobile application. The event begins on Thursday, November 10th at 6:00 pm and will end at 5:59 the following evening. You can come with your own idea – you know, that one you've been stewing about in the back of your mind but never got around to doing – or get help during the early stages of the camp to come up with one.
You will be judged for more than functionality – see the rules – so it is a good idea to find an elite but diverse group of up to four individuals who together will form your unstoppable team. Throw a designer in there. Maybe somebody with a little business or entrepreneurial sense. If you know a good pianist, a little Mozart would probably help you focus.
Well What if I Don't Win?
Then you got to party for 24 hours with friends and like-minded citizens, eat as much food as you are comfortable admitting, practice your craft in a setting designed for personal improvement, network with important and interesting people in the local tech community, and make significant headway on that project you've wanted to do for months. Is this not awesome? Seriously, just go for it:
